Senior Civil Project Manager/ Team Leader

The Team Leader is responsible for providing direct supervision to the design team members, including project engineers, team engineers, and designers. The Project Manager also provides the team with leadership, including directing teamwork and client contact. This position also calls for assistance in billing and business practices associated with the client and production of work.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide quality control of the final drawings for submission
  • Provide direct supervision to team engineers, project engineers, and designers to ensure all information is up date to work more efficiently as a team.
  • Manage aspects concerning the preparation of the designs within the project
  • General project management duties including client contact and billing
  • Provide team leadership
  • Maintaining records on the projects
  • Development of project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans
  • Maintaining project schedule and costs
  • Coordinate with other agencies that may be involved with the project
  • Attending client meetings
  • Understand Local, State, and Federal regulations concerning land development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Connecticut is required. Other States are preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in civil engineering land development, with an emphasis on storm water management design, storm drain design, and water and sewer design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Management or supervisory experience required.

Environmental

Licensed Environmental Project Manager (LEP)

The Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for performing and managing diverse, high-profile Phase I and Phase II site investigations and assessment projects simultaneously. This includes all aspects related to field oversight of environmental investigations / assessments, site characterization, soil and groundwater sampling, remedial investigations, tank closures, due diligence transactions, and environmental compliance and permitting. In addition, they will prepare preliminary engineering plans and detailed cost estimates. Supervise and direct staff, subcontractors, and remediation contractors, prepare bid specifications and coordinate contractor bidding. Other responsibilities include client relations and business development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinating, supervising, and performing field environmental site assessments leading to remediation design
  • Oversight of design projects
  • Training junior engineers
  • Preparing and presenting estimates, proposals, and schedules on environmental projects ranging from site assessments to remediation design and construction
  • Active participation in marketing/business development Handles challenging remediation projects, including in situ chemical injection projects
  • Directs remedial feasibility scope development and execution
  • Evaluates sites and determines appropriate remedial alternatives
  • Participates in management of operation and maintenance of remedial systems, including system evaluations and upgrades, more advanced troubleshooting and ensuring permit compliance
  • Prepares, manages, and reviews remediation system designs, reports, permits, specifications, work scopes and proposals
  • Manages, trains and mentors staff regarding remediation and engineering activities and standards
  • Interfaces with clients as technical lead on environmental projects

Requirements:

  • Must be a Licensed Environmental Professional in Connecticut. Professional Licensing in other
    States also preferred
  • Minimum 7 plus years relevant experience
  • Team player with a high degree of self-motivation
  • Strong ability to mentor and lead project staff
  • Demonstrated track record with design remediation projects
  • Hands-on remediation experience
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Managerial experience is required
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills

Construction

Construction Inspector

The Construction Inspector will be responsible for inspection services to assigned construction projects to include: daily log reporting, inspection of work by other per approved drawings and specifications and approved shop drawings; identification and tracking of non-conforming work or materials, compliance with approved safety plans and State and Federal environmental regulations and permits.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The candidate may serve in a project or site lead role.
  • Witnessing all specified testing in addition to mandatory hold point inspections such as fire alarm systems, piping pressure testing, and insulation resistance.
  • Developing official project punch lists from scheduled project walk downs.
  • Monitors contractor work methods and safety practices for compliance with design specifications and drawings.
  • Serving as liaison between contractor, engineering, support organizations, safety, security, operation management, and fire inspection personnel during construction phase. Perform or assist with any departmental operations, in order to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.
  • Reviewing construction project documentation for structural welding requirements. Provide real-time support to Customer on field aspects of inspection effort.

Requirements:

Associate's degree in engineering, construction management or related field and seven (7) years experience within various construction disciplines or trades. Equivalent education/experience is applicable. Must have experience and/or core competency in one or more of the following construction fields: civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, fire alarm systems, and building controls systems. Previous inspection experience on government construction projects is preferred. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.
